Alleged Fraud in Finland Using Make-A-Wish Name
Make-A-Wish Foundation International has recently learned that unauthorized individuals may have been illegally soliciting donations under the name “MAKE-A-WISH” in Finland.
Make-A-Wish Foundation International does not currently have an affiliate in Finland and has not given permission to a designated individual or organization to use the Foundation’s registered trademarks including “MAKE-A-WISH” in Finland.
The Foundation plans to work closely with Finnish law enforcement officials to protect the integrity of our global organization’s name and ensure the alleged fraudulent activities receive due justice.
The Foundation takes a no-tolerance position with alleged fraudulent activity. We have strict bylaws and guidelines that enable select countries to be affiliated with us, and we require affiliates to ensure strong financial and operational compliance measures that meet or exceed government and industry standards.
Make-A-Wish Foundation International has 31 affiliates around the world. Each affiliate is committed to the Foundation’s mission of granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
