A Message From The President and CEO - July 2010 

Dear Friends,

Hello, and thanks again for taking the time to look through our Wish Messenger newsletter. Since our last Wish Messenger, we celebrated the first ever World Wish Day^SM, a celebration honoring the wish granted to Chris Greicius in 1980 that led to the formation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation^®. All over the world Make-A-Wish^® chapters and affiliates granted wishes and held events in honor of World Wish Day. The response to this first-ever event was overwhelming and we can’t thank you and all of our supporters enough for your making it a success. Here are just a few of the great accomplishments of this inaugural World Wish Day:

• Over 275 wishes were granted worldwide in honor of World Wish Day
• Affiliates in over 30 countries took part in the event
• Thomson Reuters’ Times Square Billboard in New York displayed the wishes and events to passersby

We were extremely pleased with World Wish Day and look forward to another successful global day of wish granting next year.

In May, affiliates from around the globe gathered in Buenos Aires for our annual Wishmaker conference. The conference attendees spent time getting to know new members of the Make-A-Wish family, learning about subjects like Brand Building, Volunteerism and Building on Success. Thanks to everyone who attended and we look forward to next year in Taiwan.

Lastly, the second quarter saw Make-A-Wish^® International as the recipient of The Golden Table Goodness award during the Abraham Meetings in Urfa, Turkey. We were incredibly grateful to receive this honor and would like to thank our friends at Make-A-Wish Turkey for accepting the award on our behalf.
