I wish to meet Winny the Pooh
Letter from Wish Mother Tabitha
My daughter Angel was born with transposition of the great artery and has multiple Ventricular Septal Defects. She is only 4 years old and she has gone through more in her short life then anyone I know.
We learned Angel could receive a wish, a wish to show her that despite all of the things she had gone through, there was more to life. She told us that she would love to meet Winny the Pooh. Make-A-Wish told us that they were going to send Angel, along with the whole family, to Walt Disney World. If you could have seen Angel’s face when she heard this, you would have cried. This was something that we, as a family, may have never been able to do. We have always told Angel how proud we were of her, but this was a great way to show her.
On April 12th 2008 we heard a knock at the door, and a man in a black hat and tie grabbed all our bags and put them in a big white limo. We all thought “wow” they really do go all the way for the wishes!
This was the first time Angel and her sister have ever been on a plane. Once we landed, outside the baggage area was a man holding a sign ‘Welcome Angel to Give Kids The World”. What an amazing place, the kids were so happy to see that they were going to stay in a fairy tale-like theme park.
When Angel saw Winny the Pooh at the Magical Kingdom, that was it, she ran as fast as she could. Winny the Pooh saw her wish button and stopped everything he was doing to sit and play with her.
All in all we had an amazing time and we would like to thank everyone that made this possible. The trip exceeded all of our expectations and fortified the importance of such a terrific foundation. Thank you for all you have done and for making my Angel the happiest little girl in the world.
