I wish to be a teacher
Like most little girls, six-year-old Shaily loved dolls, shoes and clothes - but most of all, she loved going to school. It was no surprise then to her family that she wished to be a teacher for a day.

In August 2008, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India staff went to her home, complete with teaching props and even a new outfit for her to wear for her special day. They dressed her up as a little teacher, complete with a sari, jewelry, watch, handbag and even glasses!

On her wish day, Shaily went to meet the Principal. Her shyness and nervousness disappeared after the Principal gave her some chocolates. Shaily “Madam” was then introduced to her Kindergarten class, who were overjoyed at having a teacher just a little taller than themselves, to teach them songs and the alphabet.

Shaily was beside herself with joy for the entire day, and the experience confirmed that she definitely wants to be a teacher one day.
