I wish to have an 18th birthday party 
Federica, draped in a beautiful pink gown with her sweet smile, was granted the most magnificent eighteenth birthday party. Three years earlier Federica learned she had lymphoid leukemia. During her extensive treatment, she had held onto one dream, “When I get well, if I get well, I want to celebrate my 18th birthday in a really special way”.

In the months preceding the event, she had gone through many operations, which helped bring her to better health, allowing her to present herself to her many guests in all of her beauty: joyful, gracious, and grateful. She accompanied her guests in a fairy tale setting in the town of Acitrezza in the Park of the Cyclops that overlooks the exquisite Cyclops coast. A spectacular setting for her very special wish.

Among the many guests were her doctors who helped her to stay strong. This once-in-a-lifetime event included fireworks, music by Radio Sis, and exquisite food, organized by Make-A-Wish Italy. Then, the surprise of the evening, two phone calls arrived from Nek and Eros Ramazzotti, two very popular musicians, who called to wish her a Happy Birthday! A hot-air balloon delivered a star key ring to each guest, reminding them that the real star that night was the beautiful Federica.
