I wish to see snow
Joshua, age 10, Australia
When you live in a state where it is beautiful one day and perfect the next, what would your cherished wish be? To go somewhere cold of course!
And that was exactly what Joshua asked Make-A-Wish Australia for his wish. The ten-year-old had never seen snow before. So, a trip to snowfields on New Zealand’s South Island to go snowboarding was a perfect wish.
The family, Joshua, mum Tracy, dad Clay and brother Nicholas, set up base in Queenstown and traveled to The Remarkables and Coronet Peak for their days in the snow.
Joshua took a few snowboarding lessons before deciding that skiing was much easier. By the end of the holiday, he was flying down the slopes like he had been born to do it.
When not on the slopes, the family also had time for a jet boat trip along the Shotover River and a horse ride through the countryside where ‘Lord of the Rings’ was filmed. A truly action-packed holiday.
While away, the family celebrated Josh’s 11th birthday with dinner at the Skyline Restaurant on Coronet Peak. “Thank you for such a wonderful trip. Josh had the time of his life. He has put in his order for Christmas... skis!!!” said Joshua’s Mom, Tracy.
