Hiu Man’s WishMaker Story

Wish Alumni turned WishMaker

Three children and an adult woman smiling and posing with a person in a Mickey Mouse costume inside a decorated restaurant with wooden chairs and hanging plants.

After her wish was granted in 2016, Hiu Man was inspired to become a pediatric nurse and volunteer at Make-A-Wish Hong Kong.

Hiu Man is a Wish Alumni turned WishMaker who was diagnosed with ovarian teratoma as a child. Her wish to visit a theme park in Japan empowered her to continue her treatment with renewed hope. The care she received while in the hospital inspired her to study hard with the goal of becoming a nurse when she returned to school. Now, Hiu Man cares wholeheartedly for children who face critical illnesses just like she did. She also joined the Make-A-Wish Hong Kong volunteer team, helping to grant wishes and bring joy to the children who need it most.

This World Wish Month, we need more WishMakers who want to make an impact like Hiu Man. You could volunteer with your local Make-A-Wish Affiliate, or support children around the world by starting a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish International.
