I wish to be a cowboy

By age 7, João was constantly unwell and his parents were getting worried. After many tests, he was diagnosed with cancer. He went into remission after chemotherapy, but sadly, the cancer returned. Now, João awaits a bone marrow transplant.

João loves nature, the countryside, and especially horses. When Make-A-Wish Brazil met him, they found a passionate boy—one deeply worried about his future. His wish? To be a cowboy and learn to ride like a professional.

On his wish day, João visited a farm, cared for animals, herded sheep with dogs, and finally rode a horse like a real cowboy. He was amazed and full of joy.

Thanks to his wish, João could feel like a child again—free, happy and hopeful for the future.
