I wish to be a model

Trinidad, 13, Chile

chronic respiratory failure
A smiling young girl wearing a tiara and fur vest holds a plate with a slice of chocolate cake. She has a medical breathing tube and is in front of a silver star-shaped balloon and a dark background.

Trini is a bright, spirited 13-year-old girl whose optimism and joy light up every room she enters. Behind her radiant smile, however, lies a daily reality shaped by chronic respiratory failure. Dependent on a ventilator around the clock and using a wheelchair, Trini can only stand for brief moments. But none of that has dimmed her dreams.
Her greatest wish was to feel like any other teenage girl—to dress up in beautiful, fashionable clothes, wear makeup, and step in front of the camera for a real photo shoot. She wanted to feel confident, glamorous, and seen—not as a patient, but as the vibrant young woman she is.
Make-A-Wish made that wish come true.
From the moment the day began, everything was about Trini. Stylists and photographers worked to bring her vision to life, and she embraced every moment with joy and grace. Dressed in stunning outfits, her hair and makeup done to perfection, Trini lit up the set. She wasn’t just posing—she was glowing.
It was more than a photo shoot. It was a celebration of her strength, her beauty, and her spirit. A day where she wasn’t defined by her diagnosis, but by her dreams.
We went above and beyond to give Trini the best day of her life—and it’s one she’ll carry in her heart forever.
