I wish to be a paramedic

A young child in an orange emergency uniform and cap sits on a toy ambulance motorcycle, with a smiling woman crouched behind him. Both wear face masks, and an ambulance is visible in the background.

While undergoing treatment for cancer, 6-year-old Oscar became fascinated with medical staff and nurtures a dream of becoming a paramedic when he grows up!

On the day his wish was granted, the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy presented Oscar with a tailor-made EMT uniform and welcomed him to their team as ambulance personnel. Oscar was given a tour of the academy’s facilities and assisted in an emergency ambulance service drill, which enabled him to gain real-life experience as a paramedic and to rescue a ‘casualty’.

After Oscar’s wish came true, he thanked all the ambulance personnel who took part in his wish with a salute, and promised to meet again when he becomes a paramedic when he grows up!
