I wish to have a doll
Ayla, 7, Brazil
Even with the challenges life threw her way so early on, Ayla never lost her sweetness. Between the math problems she loved to solve and car rides with Grandpa César, she always found reasons to smile.
During treatment, she wished to have a doll. Not just any doll, but a realistic, reborn doll that could be a companion for her to care for, rock to sleep, and share the lightness of childhood with. Someone to be by her side, and one day, to be proudly introduced to all her school friends!
Her wish was granted with the gift of Aurora. Just as Ayla had imagined, the doll instantly became part of the family. Holding Aurora in her arms, joy became something real and tangible — and the desire to simply play came back with full force.
A wish doesn’t change the diagnosis. But it changes the day, warms the soul, and brings a smile to a child’s face.
