I wish to have a pink day

With a big smile and arms always open for a hug, Ruguiatu easily wins everyone’s heart. She’s passionate about everything that is pink and, like the true princess she is, loves to paint her nails and do her make-up with lots of glitter. She has a natural talent for dancing, is always ready for a photoshoot and her insightful and amusing comments always get a laugh out of those who accompany her. Such a special little girl could only have an equally unique and memorable wish – “A day in Ruguiatu’s Pink World”.

Having captured Ruguiatu’s interest, the volunteers set to work planning the pinkest day ever!

The adventure began at the Santini ice cream factory, where the Wish Kid got to see how her favorite dessert is made. The factory staff prepared her favorite f lavor of ice cream (strawberry) especially for her. It was so good that Ruguiatu even did her “happy dance” after tasting it, as she massaged her belly with her eyes closed, looking very satisfied. It was the best ice cream ever, in her words. She had barely finished her ice cream and there was another (big) surprise waiting for her – Ruguiatu was transported to her next destination in a limousine, decorated with balloons and lights in her favorite color! She immediately ran inside and, among much laughter and excitement, got the party started with her fantastic dance moves

The driver played some of her favorite songs and took a special route along the beaches, since Ruguiatu also loves the sea. This magical carriage dropped the group off at an Italian restaurant – the family was going to enjoy the pizzas and pastas that Ruguiatu loves so much. She took the opportunity to try a little of each dish, ordered her favorite fruit juices and, of course, a delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. She couldn’t have been happier! During lunch, Ruguiatu received some clues for the next part of her wish: she received a make-up kit, lots of nail polish, rings, necklaces, a headband and some spectacular sunglasses! Equipped with her new accessories, it was time to visit the last stop on this pink day. After climbing some stairs decorated with flowers and vines, she was greeted by the moon fairy.

To complete her pink day, she was going to spend the afternoon in the enchanted “Lugar das Fadas” (Home of the Fairies) – a real pink world, the kind Ruguiatu used to dream about. With her aunt, she had the afternoon every little girl dreams of. They began by putting on their voluminous and colorful tutus, followed by a manicure session. They also had a spa massage and face painting. After dressing up with lots of fairy accessories, it was time for the most fun part – a modeling fashion show. Ruguiatu was born to be a model: she confidently and naturally conquered the runway and everyone was buzzing with her energy. Even the Make-A-Wish volunteers took part of it!

After so much fun, the Moon Fairy prepared a delicious snack so that everyone could recover their energy. When she arrived at the Enchanted Valley, where she would have a snack fit for a fairy, she found yet another present – and this one was bigger than her! What would it be? She fastly unwrapped the present and discovered a lifesize image of her mother. Ruguiatu’s mother is out of the country, so she was sadly unable to accompany her on this special day. Make-A-Wish managed to ensure that, in a way, this figure who is so important to Ruguiatu could be present in this way and also in some videos that her mother prepared for her. These were moments that everyone shared with great affection and longing.

To end the day as happily as it had begun, Rugui led the group with her dance moves and managed to convince everyone to take part in the game of chairs, which got a lot of laughs.
