When we hear from a wish alum, we are reminded that a wish is not just a moment, but a lifelong impact.

Spyroula from Greece was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer as a child, a painful and traumatic experience that shaped her early years. As an imaginative 8-year-old, her wish was to be a maid of honor in a wedding. With the support of her doctor, Dr. Vassilios Papadakis, who helped grant her wish and now serves on the Make-A-Wish International Medical Advisory Committee, Spyroula experienced renewed hope during a difficult time.

Inspired by her journey and the care she received, Spyroula went on to study medicine herself, demonstrating the lasting impact a wish can have long after the wish experience ends.
