Fuel the Magic: A Unique Collaboration between Disney, Formula 1, and Make-A-Wish
Disney, Formula 1 and Make-A-Wish have come together for a first-of-its-kind collaboration to help grant life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses. At the heart of the initiative are two custom racing helmets, created in partnership with Bell Racing and designed by Bret Iwan, the official voice of Mickey Mouse, with creative direction from Bobby Kim, Global Creative Director, Disney Consumer Products.
The first helmet will be signed by Formula 1 drivers during race weekend at Silverstone, including Make-A-Wish France ambassador Pierre Gasly, and will be auctioned through F1 Authentics. Registration opens July 7, with bidding live from July 11 through July 18. All net proceeds* will benefit Make-A-Wish to help grant life-changing wishes for children and their families when it is needed most.
The second helmet will be showcased at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, taking place August 14-16, 2026, in Anaheim, California, where fans will have the opportunity to see the design up close. During the event, fans will also have the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to win a replica version, with net proceeds** benefiting Make-A-Wish and helping make even more wishes possible. The sweepstakes will be live beginning on August 14, 2026. This will be hosted for a U.S. based audience beginning on August 14. Suggested contribution per entry: $10. No purchase necessary.
This collaboration builds on long-standing relationships between Disney, Formula 1 and Make-A-Wish. The Formula 1 partnership has been active since 2023, with over 185 wishes granted for children with critical illnesses. The Disney partnership began more than 45 years ago with the first official wish granted at Disneyland. Since then, Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to grant more than 175,000 life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses around the world, bringing hope, joy and strength to children and their families during some of their most difficult moments.
*Net proceeds include all revenue received for the helmets/products minus transaction, tax or logistics-related expenses.

A future engineer’s dream
“This time last year Ivy had just finished her treatment. To be able to come here and experience this as a family, it’s really been an opportunity for Ivy to see what a future could look like and what an engineering career could lead to,” said Sarah, Ivy’s mum.
