Chris Greicius was a 7-year-old boy battling leukemia. In 1980, his Phoenix community came together to make his wish come true; on April 29th Chris’ wish to be a police officer came true.
At the time, many more children like Chris needed help. Make-A-Wish was founded 43 years ago, with $37.76 — the total amount the cofounders had that day when they emptied their pockets. Today, you can give $37.76 USD to commemorate little Chris Greicius and continue giving joy to children with critical illnesses around the world.
