Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Our Sustainability Commitments

‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’ is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations in 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. SDG 16 aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
Make-A-Wish International aims to be an effective, accountable and inclusive organization at all levels. Policies and strategies implemented to achieve that include our Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy, our vision for diversity, equity and inclusion and our strategy for geographic expansion.

Geographic Expansion
Make-A-Wish currently operates in nearly 50 countries and territories around the world through its extensive network of Affiliates. Guided by our vision “to grant the wish of every eligible child,” we are committed to expanding our operations into new territories, with a particular focus on increasing participation in developing countries.
Our geographical expansion program prioritizes larger territories in Africa, Asia, and South America that offer a stable environment, ensuring the greatest possible impact.
The process involves identifying highly skilled and commited local leaders or partnering with existing charities focused on children with critical illnesses. We follow a rigorous due diligence and planning process, providing comprehensive training and ongoing support to equip new territories with the tools they need for long-term success.
