“I wish to meet my favorite soccer team

Caua's wish - profile

Every child deserves a childhood full of joyful memories. There are more children just like Cauã, who are waiting on their wishes to be granted.

From the age of 6, Cauã began to have difficulty walking, falling frequently. Soon after, his parents received dreadful news from the doctor: Cauã was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a genetic disorder characterized by the progressive loss of muscle. The same year, he started undergoing hospital treatments and has been using a wheelchair for the past 4 years. What brightens Cauã’s life is his passion for soccer.

On his wish day, Cauã and his family were welcomed into the hospitality lounge where he was gifted a Palmeiras fan kit and treated to a delicious meal. After dinner, he got close to the field to watch his favorite team warm up. He was so close to the pitch that some of the players even greeted him!

When the game kicked off, Cauã laughed, cried, and screamed with emotion! He couldn’t take his eyes off the pitch for a second!

Upon the final whistle blow, Cauã received surprising news: he was to take to the field in person to hand over the “Best of the Match” trophy to his idol, Weverton Pereira da Silva. Just when it seemed the day couldn’t get any better, Weverton presented Cauã with the game’s ball, autographed, and escorted him personally to meet the whole team!

We hope the joy of this day will be marked in Cauã’s memory and heart forever.
