I wish to visit the railway museum
Qing, 4, Shanghai
At just four years old, Qing is facing a battle no child should ever have to fight—
malignant melanoma. Yet despite his diagnosis, Qing’s spirit shines brightly. He’s a
cheerful, curious little boy with a big love for high-speed trains. That fascination sparked
a deeper interest in the history of China’s railways, and from that grew a heartfelt wish:
to visit the China Railway Museum in Beijing.
On April 25, 2025, Qing’s long-awaited dream began to unfold. Accompanied by his
mother, he travelled all the way from Guizhou to Beijing. The excitement lit up his face
throughout the journey—this was more than a trip; it was a moment he had been holding
onto with hope.
The very next morning, Qing and his mother were joined by a wish granter who brought
them to the museum. As they stepped into the exhibition hall, Qing’s eyes widened in
wonder. Before him stood the story of China’s railways—majestic steam locomotives
from the past, sleek high-speed trains of today. He explored every corner with joy and
awe, soaking in the history he had only dreamed about.
For Qing, this wasn’t just a visit. It was a day of discovery, of happiness, of being a child
lost in a world he loves. A day that will stay with him—and his family—forever.
