The Rise of Gaming Wishes

Gaming and entertainment wishes are rising because games are an ideal way for children to connect with other players globally in a highly immersive and often fictional world. It also gives them the opportunity to play with their friends no matter the severity of their health condition. Their illness is no longer a barrier and they can gather hope and joy from online-communities and escape into videogames.

YouTubers, Twitch streamers and other online personalities can help critically ill children feel less alone and connected to others. Getting to meet their favorite streamer helps a child living with a critical illness feel hope and fuels their passions. They may even learn some new tricks in their favorite game.

Another factor in the rise in gaming wishes is the wide variety of videogaming opportunities. From mobile games, to different consoles and gaming PCs and laptops, to tabletop role playing games (TTRPG), the possibilities are endless. Donate today to help grant a critically ill child their gaming wish!

Escaping Reality Through Games

The beauty of (online) games is the possibility to lose yourself in another world. You gain amazing abilities, you can go on epic adventures, find peace in a cozy farming simulator, or simply watch someone else traverse beautifully strange worlds. Even for everyday life, gaming is a popular way to escape the stress of daily life.

For a child living with a critical illness, gaming is a way to gain experiences that would otherwise be difficult or maybe even impossible. Games can remove physical barriers and biases, and help critically ill children feel like themselves and reclaim their childhood.

How Can You Grant Wishes by Gaming?

There are three main ways to grant wishes by gaming; join our streaming events, simrace, or play TTRPGs with your friends. The possibilities are endless!

WishMakers LIVE! has been launched in 2022 to help children living with a critical illness. You can easily join in or create your own event, stream or simply donate through TILTIFY or streamlabs. Download our streamer toolkit to find out exactly how you can set up your stream to help critically ill children. You can also contribute to the wish journey by joining an 8-hour endurance simrace and find out what it’s like to step into the world of F1 racing. Assemble your team and RSVP for the 2024 race!

Not all games are played online. TTRPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons where you can create your own characters and go on epic quests are still popular. Your campaign can help raise money for children living with a critical illness. Get in touch to find out how you can help Roll for Wishes.
