I Wish to Meet My Favorite Actor
“Tara, Ma, pa-chemo na tayo!” (“Let’s go to chemo, Mom!”), wish child Tonie exclaimed after her wish came true.
Tonie is a charismatic and artistic 17-year-old living with cancer, whose wish was to meet her favorite Filipino actor, David Licauco. The Make-A-Wish team set up a seemingly simple meet-up with her where they told her to write a letter to him and promised they would try to send it to him.
Tonie had no idea that she would actually get to give the letter to him in person! The wish was granted a few hours before Tonie had to undergo in-patient treatment. Tonie was thrilled to spend some precious time chatting and getting to know her hero, telling him about herself and taking photos together. She left the venue with so much determination and it was the perfect experience to give her the strength to face her week ahead at the hospital.
