Become a WishMaker And Bring Happiness to Children
Become a WishMaker and bring happiness to children! A WishMaker is someone who helps bring the power of a wish to children facing critical illnesses. All you need is just a willingness to help and a desire to make a difference.
Be a WishMaker, Change Lives
WishMakers come in all forms. They’re people who donate, start fundraising events, volunteer their time or simply share a story that inspires others. Some give once. Others give often. But every act of kindness brings a child with a critical illness one step closer to a life-changing wish.
Becoming a WishMaker is easy. Choose how you want to help, it’s up to you. However you get involved, you become part of something powerful. Help create moments of happiness when they’re needed most.
The Impact of a Single Wish on a Child’s Life
A granted wish is more than a moment—it’s a way to improve a child’s life. For a child facing a critical illness, it offers something to look forward to, a joyful experience and lasting happy memories. The shift from worry to joy brings new energy, confidence and the resilience needed to endure treatment.
The impact of a granted wish goes beyond the child with a critical illness. Their families share in the joy. Communities come together. Volunteers, donors and even strangers feel the ripple effect of helping.
A wish reminds everyone involved that even in the hardest times, something beautiful still happens sometimes. It creates memories that last, not just for the child, but also for their family.
How to Become a WishMaker: Steps to Get Started
There’s more than one way to help bring wishes to life.
Can you make a one-time donation? It’s simple: click the donate button, pick the amount that feels right for you, and know that your gift helps bring a child’s wish closer to reality.
Some people take it a step further and organize a fundraising event. You could plan something small with friends or set up a bigger online campaign using the tools provided. It only takes a few minutes to get started, and the impact lasts much longer. Sharing your goal with others, through email, group chats or social media. It inspires more people than you think.
Are you someone who wants to give monthly? A recurring gift helps fund wishes all year long. It brings steady support to future stories that haven’t happened yet. That future full of joy becomes possible because someone like you chose to take part. No matter how you choose to give, you become part of a growing community that believes in joy and in the power of a wish.
Real-life story: from wish mom to WishMaker, Malu’s story
Malu’s journey with Make-A-Wish began in 2015, not as a volunteer, but as a mother. Her daughter Camila, only 8 at the time, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Camila was granted a wish: to be a princess and ride the princess’s horse. That magical day brought her immense joy, a memory that stayed bright even as she later became a star. In the depths of her grief, Malu found healing through remembering Camila’s smile and decided to become a Make-A-Wish volunteer. Since then, she has helped bring joy to children, including Maurício, whose wish was to be a horse caretaker. Each wish she helps grant is a tribute to her daughter’s light and a reminder that even in the hardest times, hope and joy are still possible. She truly believes that the best medicine for any illness in this world is the power of a wish.
Do you also want to give, fundraise or volunteer? You’re not alone! You’re part of something bigger. Around the world, WishMakers are coming together to help bring more wishes to life. Join this global community of kindness and joy, and help create moments that truly matter. Get involved!
