World Wish Day 2023
Every year on April 29th, Make-A-Wish celebrates World Wish Day. This marks the anniversary of the wish that inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish – that of Chris Greicius. His wish was to be a police officer for the day. Since the day of his wish, Make-A-Wish has become a global organization that has granted over 550,000 wishes collectively.
Even the smallest bit of help can change the perspective of children who are living with a critical illness. Turning their impossible into possible and making children’s faces light up with joy is the goal of each wish journey.
Grant life-changing wishes
When is World Wish Day 2023?
World Wish Day is celebrated on the 29th of April to spread awareness of the work done by Make-A-Wish and to raise funds to help them continue to grant wishes for children living with a critical illness. From 2010 to the present day, this initiative is going strong. World Wish Day 2023 will be on a Saturday, which means you can spend your day off spreading joy and awareness. To celebrate World Wish Day you can make a donation to Make-A-Wish to support us in granting wishes for children living with a critical illness. Your support helps us grant wishes and give hope to children who might need it most. The wish journey provides the child with an extraordinary experience that can transform their life.
The importance of spreading awareness
Raising awareness about World Wish Day can help make more wishes come true. By doing so, you can inspire more volunteers, and more people to donate to Make-A-Wish on World Wish Day. Although World Wish Day has been celebrated for many years it still needs your help to grow stronger and spread even wider across the globe.
Since the start of World Wish Day in 2010, the community has grown at an unimaginable rate. It is now celebrated all across the globe to help hundreds of wish kids to receive their share of happiness.
How can you transform the lives of children living with a critical illness?
When a wish is granted, it can transform the life of a child living with a critical illness by bringing joy and restoring hope for the future. But we cannot grant wishes without the help of people like you. You can either volunteer or donate to help the cause. All that is needed is your compassion and help. Make-A-Wish works on granting the wishes of eligible children. Many kids are still waiting for their wishes to be fulfilled, and that requires your help.
There are so many different ways to contribute to World Wish Day. Even if you cannot donate or volunteer, spreading awareness about it can help. A tiny step can create a mass movement and a wave of smiles among children living with critical illnesses who have waited and wished daily for their desires to come true. Be a helping hand and join the amazing and helpful community today!
Ways to fundraise for World Wish Day 2023
For World Wish Day, you can fundraise in many ways. A bake sale is a good idea to execute if you decide to raise funds at a school, in a neighborhood, or maybe in your workplace. You can sell old stuff you no longer need at a yard sale and donate the amount earned to Make-A-Wish. If you have a special talent, such as painting, making crafts, crocheting or stitching, a great way to fundraise would be to sell your handmade items. You can donate the profits you earn or a percentage of what you earn to grant wishes all across the globe. Every penny helps so do not be ashamed of the amount you are able to donate. Is it not heart-warming to be a part of an initiative so beautiful and joyful?
Another great way of fundraising is holding sporting events. These can be competitions of football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, tennis, etc. The registration fee and ticket money prove to be a great source of cash. This also helps others bring up their hidden talent and you can donate the profits to Make-A-Wish and play your part to the best of your abilities!
Perhaps the easiest way to fundraise is with a Facebook or Instagram fundraiser. Simply select Make-A-Wish International as your charity of choice and follow the steps to start requesting support from friends and family.
