A child’s fight against a critical illness is not only physically exhausting – it is traumatic. A spark of hope can ignite a world of possibilities for a child and their family. This hope can be found in a wish.
Erika is 10 years old and her wish was ‘to be a real mermaid’, as she loves going swimming in the pool or at the beach. When she met the Make-A-Wish Portugal volunteers, Erika told them that she wished she could have a blue and sea-green tail, just like her favorite mermaid.
Erika’s Mum told us, “Eirka was overjoyed on her wish day! It brought a lot of joy to her life, and also a lot more strength and resilience in the harder stages of her illness.”
Donate today and restore hope with a wish for other wish kids just like Erika.
